Things to know about Nosara

The roads are rough

Expect narrow, bumpy dirt roads throughout Nosara. If you are renting a vehicle and driving, be sure you are equipped to handle the terrain. During the dry season dust clouds are tossed up as you drive past, and during the wet season the roads are logged with mud and water. It is passable, but much different than roads throughout the United States.

The people are welcoming

Explore the local attractions, eat at the local restaurants, and buy produce from the local stores. Costa Ricans are known for their generosity and hospitality, and this is felt throughout Nosara. Be sure to visit a local fruit stand to try some offerings that you have likely never heard of or seen back home.

The weather is tropical

Dress and plan accordingly. Daytime temperatures average between 85 and 95 degrees throughout the year, with nighttime temperatures in the high 60’s to low 70’s. There is a mini wet season in May and June, with the largest amount of precipitation in September and October. November through April is usually dry.
